Beny Tchaicovsky

Beny Tchaicovsky (1954-2009) was a fine arts painter, gifted guitar player, composer and pioneer award-winning multimedia computer artist. Tchaicovsky’s paintings have been exhibited internationally in museums such the Luxembourg Museum in Paris in the 1989 show "Les Trois Ameriques a Paris," as well as in exhibitions in Germany, Brazil and the United States. Tchaicovsky’s numerous awards include "The Visionary" awarded first place for the best Cyber poster in the International Multimedia Day at the 49th Cannes Film Festival in 1996.

Tchaicovsky artistic legacy is the product of a life of intense creative labor. From an early age, Tchaicovsky used his drawings and paintings as tools to explore what he experienced along his search for the meaning of life. In his paintings and in his 3D animations as well as in the soundtrack compositions for his feature 3D animations, he expressed different consciousness states and symbols. For him, Art’s meaning was to shed light on the ultimate mysteries of the Self. He materialized his visions in an extremely personal way. He used the power of his imagery as a gateway to the subconscious mind. As a doorway into “non-ordinary” reality, where he could access and explore his higher- Self consciousness.

His work reveals images that are at the root of the fantastic which has no intention of being fantastic. They are simply -- the result of setting order to the visual images of an unconventional world imbued with magic. Tchaicovsky did not operate in the realm of the fantastic. His world was the world of the Self, of pure being, of what is. His work presents as permanent themes the rupture from the conventional concept of time-space, holes leading to other dimensions.

In his lifetime, Beny conquered the illusionary boundaries between art, music, and science by working in painting, video, computer graphics, computer generated 3D animation and as a professional musician and composer. His work reflects his criticism of the mainstream culture which does not question the meaning of human existence and its connection to nature and the cosmos. Beny Tchaicovsky accurately portrayed the struggles of the conflicted souls of the 20th and 21st century.
