Edward Dwayne Sanders was born in Cleveland, Mississippi. He grew up in nearby Ruleville, where he graduated from Ruleville Central High School. Edward was raised in a humble household with four siblings. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army Reserve as a part-time Soldier to support his college education at Mississippi Valley State University. Edward graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and completed the Army Military Police Officer Basic Course at Fort McClellan, AL shortly afterwards. He subsequently relocated to Atlanta, GA to pursue a career in criminal justice. Edward held various positions in the criminal justice field to include Loss Prevention Officer, Probation Officer, and Parole Officer. He later earned his Master of Science degree in General Administration from Central Michigan University. Edward joined the Active Guard Reserve Program (AGR) and was promoted to Major where he served in many rewarding positions, to include a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Analyst, an Executive Officer, a Contracting Officer Representative, a Battalion S-3, and a Provost Marshal. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2015 and continues to serve this great country today after nearly 30 years of service.
