John Andrews grew up in Sheridan, Arkansas. He is the author of Colin Is Changing His Name which was a finalist for the 2015 Moon City Poetry Prize. His work has appeared in Ninth Letter, Redivider, The Boiler, Columbia Poetry Review and elsewhere. He has taught creative writing and composition at Northern Oklahoma College, Oklahoma State University, and Texas State University. Also, he has taught K-12 students with Upward Bound, Austin Bat Cave, and Arkansas Governor's School. Currently, he lives in Stillwater, OK, where he is a Ph.D. student in English and Creative Writing at Oklahoma State University and serves as an Associate Editor for the Cimarron Review.
