Jeri Lynn Scott, that would be me, a true middle child. I spent my childhood with a book in my hands and most of my adult life trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up.
My passions are books, travel, and dogs and not always in that order.
My bookcases, real and virtual versions, are full of mysteries, biographies, historical fiction, and any book relating to dogs. I proudly admit to being a mutt snob and believe that the best dog is a rescue dog.
I'm a lifelong resident of Southeastern Wisconsin and live with my husband of over forty years, Gary. Yes, Gary and Jeri, we tend to answer to each other's names. Cara-Boo joined our family in October 2017.
I spent 30+ years in banking and actually started while in High School. I was going to work until I saved enough money to attend college. Actually, I never intended on going to University, because they would make me take classes in Math and Science.
So, how is it that a person who dislikes Math work in the financial services field? I had no problem with technology, starting with a hand held calculator (gasp!) and moving on to computers.
I was diagnosed with moderate to severe depression in 1985, but was able to continue work full time for another 20+ years with the assistance of medication. Unfortunately, I did not follow doctors orders to stay away from, or at least, minimize stress.
Have I mentioned that my biggest phobia is public speaking? And that I'm still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.
After my third major breakdown, I decided to learn everything I could about dogs. Toby, my own personal therapy dog (not officially, because we couldn't pass the TDI test) helped me stay grounded. When he passed over the Rainbow Bridge, I wrote his memoir.
That's how Toby's Transformation came about. After finishing that book, I realized I had enough material for a second book based on the many dogs I'd come in contact with. There's a Reason Puppies Are So Cute, was the result.
My fictional series, Oberon Township, came out of the oh so many nights spent staring at the ceiling, trying to fall asleep. I used to build houses in my mind to relax. It's a method that's supposed to distract your mind from every day problems. I graduated to building an entire community. The first in the series is The Sorceress of the Great Lakes. The second, which is available in the Kindle version is A Reenergized Winter Solstice. The paperback will be available soon. I've got a webpage up and running that includes a map of Oberon Township and a list of characters in the first two books. https://oberontownship.com
