Richard S. Newman, Ph.D. is Professor Emeritus in the Graduate School of Education at University of California, Riverside. His research has focused on how students cope with academic, social, and emotional difficulties. A particular interest is the coping mechanism of help seeking. Dr. Newman is also a licensed clinical psychologist in Woodland Hills, CA. One of his specialties is working with children, adolescents, and parents with issues involving peer relationships and school bullying. Dr. Newman received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
