Thank you for visiting my author page. If you have read any of my books already, I'd really appreciate it if you would do a quick review of it/them at Amazon. It would definitely help attract other readers to my novels. I'd also love to hear directly from you. My email address is MaryMorrowTlucak@gmail.com
To tell you a little about myself, I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and currently reside with my husband in Northeast Ohio. In the past, I have resided in Arizona and in Upstate New York.
I completed post Master’s work in Psychology at the University of Akron and have worked in both medical and social research (Case Western Reserve Med School and field work for The University of Michigan). I have a number of scientific publications related to the research in which I participated. I also taught Psychology and Education classes at the college level (Cuyahoga Community College in Parma OH and Corning Community College in Corning NY).
Writing has always been my first love and I won a couple of minor awards, for example, a number of years ago, I won a first place in the Midwest Writer's Competition sponsored by The Ohio Council for the Arts and Kent State University. Most recently, I was selected as a quarter finalist in the 2018 Screencraft Cinematic Short Story Contest for my science fiction short story, Bonestorming.
I also pursued and received a Master’s degree in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. My novel A Double Dose of Murder was completed as my Master’s thesis at Seton Hill and is currently published under the name Mary Morrow (I wanted readers to be able to distinguish between my mainstream romance/saga novels and my mystery novels so I'm using my maiden name only on my mysteries).
I have written a number of other novels over the years and now have the time and motivation to do something with them, so I'm in the process of publishing them through KDP. The first ones available through Amazon in both Kindle version and paperback include True Image, Stolen Innocence, A Toss of the Coin, House of Cards, and Sometime, which are all stand-alone novels. All three books in my family saga trilogy Button Box are also available and each is a continuation of the previous one.
I have trouble categorizing my novels. They are not genre romance, but do always have romantic relationships as a major aspect. They are not straight women's fiction, but do explore issues found in that category, such as self-discovery, dealing with adversity, inner strength, etc. They are not true Christian fiction in that the main theme is not a redemption story, but they do tend to espouse christian values. They are not traditional historical fiction, in that they are not Victorian or Gothic, etc. They are mostly set during the second half of the 20th century, a time when choices and options for women were easier in some ways, but more complicated in other ways. I do believe the themes and issues explored in each one would appeal to women of all ages. I guess I'd classify them as "retro" novels which would be enjoyed by women who lived a portion of their lives "back in the day," but also by women who'd like to learn what things were like for women in the 20th century.
