Cheryl S. Hartmann

Cheryl S. Hartmann was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley. Her mother and father, Phyllis and Art Wall, were well known in the area. While attending Mackenzie High School their family became known as The “Good News” Singers, a gospel singing group traveling all over Ontario and Quebec as well as New Braunfels, Texas. They produced three record albums and two 8-track tapes over the 25 years they performed together.

Following her graduation from high school in Deep River, ON, Cheryl worked for a few years in the area before marrying a Texan and moving to the United States. After a couple years in the city of New Braunfels, she and her husband Steve moved back to Canada. The couple lived a short period of time in Chesterville (south of Ottawa) and Eganville before moving to Pembroke where they now reside.

Cheryl and Steve have two children - their daughter is married and living in Waterloo, Ontario and their son is married and living in the village of Chalk River where he is employed at a local company.

Cheryl still sings in her local church regularly -- St. Luke’s Anglican (affiliated with ANiC) in Pembroke and has also created several years of original Vacation Bible School programs. She enjoys making the props, costumes, and puppets as well as writing some of the songs. She has been Vacation Bible School Coordinator for the past 5 years.

After several conversations with many different individuals over the years, Cheryl conceived the idea for writing this book. It is an allegory about the triune work of God in people’s lives from His invitation to come and know Him, to living with Him in heaven. Although she has always been interested in writing, it had not occurred to her that she might ever have a book published. Cheryl is pleased to present “The Mansion Beyond the Red Gate” and hopes that the reader will be blessed and will draw closer to the Lord.
