Melanie Anne Phillips is author of the Event series and co-creator of the Dramatica Theory of Narrative Structure. Since 1991 she has also taught creative writing and story structure to students from around the world..

As a consultant for the CIA and NSA she has applied her theories of narrative psychology to counter-terrorism, and currently promotes narrative analysis techniques in fiction and the real world through her company, Storymind.

Her books include both fiction and nonfiction with offerings in surreal science fiction and on narrative structure and creative writing as well as an ongoing series of autobiographical works documenting her life experiences and philosophic outlook.
