In 2008, James "retired early" following the sale of Masterpiece Solutions, a software business he created for Art Galleries and Antique Dealers.
He played golf, and tennis, and even invented a new kitchen gadget. But mostly, he was BORED. So, he began to learn Spanish - since learning a second language had been a lifelong dream that he had never accomplished. James felt a strong desire to connect with native Spanish speakers for conversation practice, and to also learn about the many cultures that make up our community.
After many failed attempts, James discovered a "secret" that helped him become fluent in Spanish. What he found was, the more people he helped speak English, the faster and easier he was able to speak Spanish, PROVIDED THAT both parties were able to follow a defined model and method for success.
James wanted to share his secret with the world.
So, in 2013, he founded The ShareLingo Project and began work on developing the proprietary model and methods that the company uses today.
In addition to the United States, James has lived in Australia and Europe, and has traveled extensively throughout Asia and Latin America. Prior to developing ShareLingo, he had been a Computer Engineer, the General Manager of Australia’s largest conference and Exhibition Company, an art gallery owner, and an inventor, holding multiple patents in his name.
As part of the process of marketing The ShareLingo Project, James took many online marketing courses, and put together a team of people in Nicaragua to help with the project. Soon, other people began asking him for his advice for launching online business, and also asked if his team could help them implement their own online launches.
It was at that point that James co-founded Virtual Launch Team; a group of launch experts who, along with James, help people understand and execute online marketing strategies.
James has served on multiple corporate and non-profit boards. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Rochester.
Perhaps, one day, James will retire again. Or, perhaps not.
