Vito Adriaensens is a filmmaker and scholar. He holds a PhD from the University of Antwerp and an MFA from the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema (Brooklyn College). Vito's award-winning 16mm experimental films have screened internationally, and his first feature is the 35mm anthology film "Ovid, New York," inspired by The Metamorphoses. He is a co-author of "Screening Statues: Sculpture and Cinema," the author of "Velvet Curtains and Gilded Frames: The Art of Early European Cinema," and has published widely on the interaction between visual arts, theatre, and cinema. Vito is currently Assistant Professor of Experimental Film and Media at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
