Barb’s first book, “Quilt Care, Construction and Use: How to Help Your Quilt Live to 100” is a compilation and enhancement of columns she wrote for the Wyoming State Quilt Guild’s newsletter, hoping to forestall the untimely demise of any hand-made quilt.
Thirty-five years of experience quilt making, more than a dozen years teaching beginning quilting, and 18 years as the proprietor of Gorges Quilt Labels, purveyor of woven-print quilt care labels, has been distilled for this book. See www.GorgesQuiltLabels.com.
In addition to designing and making her own interpretations of traditional quilts, Barb writes the monthly bird and garden columns for the Wyoming Tribune Eagle. Archives of the columns are at www.CheyenneBirdBanter.wordpress.com and www.CheyenneGardenGossip.com.
Raised in suburban southeastern Wisconsin, Barb has a Bachelor of Science in natural resource management with a writing minor from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.
