Larry J. Walker

Dr. Larry J. Walker is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Program Coordinator, Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education, University of Central Florida. Previously, he served as the Legislative Director for former Congressman Major R. Owens. Dr. Walker's responsibilities included supervising the legislative staff and developing the Congressman's legislative agenda. He handled a variety of policy issues including Appropriations, Criminal Justice, Education, and Foreign Affairs. Additionally, he was selected as a Congressional Fellow with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

Dr. Walker’s research focuses on the relationship between public policy, research, and the common good. He has published numerous peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and coedited three books. Further, he is a political analyst and has appeared on a variety of national and regional networks.
