Born in Pennsylvania due to her mother delivering a few
days earlier than expected; Ronnie was flown back to Florida,
where she resided until age 14.
As a child, Ronnie, found herself engulfed in many books.
Partially, she wanted to earn a certificate. One that said,
“Ronnie earns a gold star because she read the most books this
summer”. As the boastfulness wore off, Ronnie learned books
can also show another perspective on life.
When Ronnie reached an age to travel, she did so very
enthusiastically. Traveling all over the United States, from
Louisiana to California and everywhere in between; Ronnie
finally planted her feet in Indiana’s soil, where she resides today.
Ronnie received the nickname, a nomadic gypsy. Her
fiance so graciously bestowed the title upon her due to her
many interests in college. From associates degrees in
Psychology, Criminal Justice, and an unfinished business degree;
Ronnie learned a Liberal Arts degree would have been
cheaper.
On the flip side of that coin, Ronnie was able to work
many types of jobs. Aside from having a non profit, she
worked for Arc Easter Seals, too. Her passion for helping
special needs teens and adults sadly came to end.
Having a child diagnosed with Autism, Pervasive
Developmental Delay, High Sensory Issues, a small heart
condition, KBG Syndrome and schizophrenic tendencies, Ronnie
found herself without childcare.
After many months of trying to work basic jobs, having
sitters in which didn’t fit the mold, and needing to home school
her son; Ronnie realized God was trying to tell her something.
Sometimes, it took a brick wall for Ronnie to see the light on
the other side.
So, Ronnie began soul searching. She wanted to do
something to help others and ensure her son received
unconditional love and support. Writing a list of all her skills
was easy. Finding a way to help others and be home with her
son was not.
Looking at the list, Ronnie checked off all but two
possibilities. She could paint murals! She decided to test that
theory at home.
Painting a wall seemed to take longer than usual.
Between her son: showing fits of boredom, needing food
breaks, having tantrums, and school work: Ronnie decided
this was definitely NOT a possibility.
Digging through her old files, Ronnie stumbled across
stories she once wrote. Like magic, things just clicked. Fine
tuning the stories came natural. Finding the illustrator was
like God hand picked and placed her in Ronnie’s path. Ideas
flowed and finding time for everything was a breeze. Could
life really be this easy? Could Ronnie devote herself to her
family and help others?
Well …. You can be the judge of that.
