I am a retired Psychologist with a particular interest in the spiritual path to healing and wholeness. Raised in a small town in upstate New York, a red brick school adorns the idyllic backdrop of my youth. A public library has replaced the school room of my kindergarten class--the last one to attend there--as winds of change transformed our world. It's funny what stands out the most from the mind of a five-year old. There was a fire escape on the left side of the building with iron grill steps and landings. My brother Jim, two years older than me, would run up and down it and dare me to do the same. I still recall the first time I met his challenge, and the intense fear I felt to see the ground below through the iron grill landing at the top of the fire escape. I have since come to understand this part of self as soul where lived experiences from way back when cut through the prosaic nature of our lives and lead us above the ennui.

My faith has always been important to me, and its central role can be seen in my literary works. I witnessed too much quiet suffering from those I counseled who either gave up on their faith or showed little interest in it. My sincerest hope is that my books offer a conducive way to understand the importance of a God-centered life and a middle ground to live it out with those of different faith perspectives.
