Born the last of ten children in the ghettos of east Dallas, Dr. King's life took a life-changing turn at the age of 18 years old when the US Navy ship he was serving on collided with an aircraft carrier. This near-death experience altered his mindset forever. The experience taught him the value of being committed to excellence, as he and his shipmates saved the ship after fires broke out and the ship began taking on water. As a result, he has been an example of a life committed to excellence since that day. From military veteran to senior executive for two of the largest corporations in the world, he earned his way to the top and demonstrated the level of discipline it takes to earn a PhD.

As an international speaker and trainer, Dr. King (calling on the unbelievable experience of colliding with an aircraft carrier) challenges audiences to discover the things that they are colliding with daily and keeping them from reaching the next level in their success.
