Kathryn A. Remlinger

Kathryn A. Remlinger (1961-) grew up in Columbus, Ohio. She earned her B.A. and an M.A. at Morehead State University, in eastern Kentucky and a Ph.D. at Michigan Technological University, in the Upper Peninsula. She is Professor of English at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, where she teaches a variety of courses in socio-cultural linguistics. Her research examines the relationship among language, place, and identity in and the ways in which linguistic landscapes shape language awareness and affects attitudes about regional dialects and personas.
