Andie Andrews

Andie Andrews Eisenberg (andieandrewsbooks.com) is a recreational horseback rider, certified equine massage therapist, screenwriter, cowgirl poet, novelist, blogger, sheep farmer, and novice homesteader. Several years ago, she moved from suburbia to a small hobby farm in New Jersey so that Hook, her beloved Quarter Horse gelding and muse for EPHEMERAL, could come home to live with her happily ever after. She has since moved a little farther afield to Middle Tennessee, where she homesteads with her tractor-happy husband, Ed, a dozen hens, two sassy mares, a small flock of sheep (www.allsaintsvalaisblacknosesheep.com), and a gregarious Golden Retriever/farm-dog-in-training. When she’s not writing, Andie can be found kicking up dust while dancing with horses, tending gardens, chasing chickens, cuddling lambs, mending fences, sweeping the barn, feeding her family, and finding 101 uses for baling twine around the farm.

Her newest book, THE SHEPHERDESS, is a novella about the life of St. Germain Cousin (pub date Sept. 2023)

New from Loyola Press! FARMING & HOMESTEADING WITH THE SAINTS is now available! (pub date July 2023)

AUTHOR'S NOTE: People often ask about the title of my novel, EPHEMERAL. The title/book was inspired by the 2016 “Super Bloom” of desert flowers in Death Valley, a rare phenomenon that happens only once a decade or longer. In March 2016, over 20 species of wildflowers were in bloom, the majority of which were “ephemerals”—which have short, deliberate lives. Their brief lifespan is a survival strategy; rather than battle the relentless heat year after year, the flowers’ seeds lie dormant underground. When enough rain finally falls and the desert conditions are perfect, the long-dormant seeds sprout quickly and result in dazzling blooms of fleeting beauty: fields of gold, purple, and white. In nature’s/God’s wisdom, the flowers go back to seed before the withering dryness and heat return. EPHEMERAL is both a human love story and a testimony to the power-of-now as mastered and lived by the horse.

UPDATE: ETERNAL, the sequel to EPHEMERAL is now available in paperback and Kindle formats!
