Amin Hammani

Amin Hammani is an Italian-Moroccan writer living in France. Born in Piedmont in 2001, he writes fiction shaped by the movement between countries, languages and histories, exploring themes of exile, belonging, memory and the fragile ways in which people build a place for themselves in the world.

He is the author of *La cittą senza donne*, a historical mystery set in Marrakech in 1906, and *Il vento non segue ordini*, a historical novel inspired by the life of Sayyida al-Hurra and the upheavals that transformed the western Mediterranean between the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries.

His work moves between intimate lives and larger historical forces, with particular attention to the Mediterranean, North Africa and the people whose stories have often remained at the margins of official history. He writes in Italian and lives in Montpellier, where he studies history.
