Dennis M Keating

Dennis M Keating enjoys life and is known as the Honolulu Guy. His travels and wide range of experiences are reflected in his books. His most recent book, The PUNCTS, uses Hip Hop poetry to teach about punctuation marks. Other books concern the Olympics and adventure poetry for men.

He considers himself to be a peripatetic raconteur (A traveling Storyteller) with an eclectic background.

He's worked in two dozen countries and lived for more than 40 years outside the shores of our US continent in Hawaii, China, Germany and Thailand.

He has a diverse background in that he is a former US Marine and member of the Chicago Police Department. He has a degree in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame and a business MBA from Baylor University. Also, he earned a Cambridge Academy of Arts Certificate while studying at Oxford, England.

He has lectured PhD candidates at the Chinese Academy of Science and lecture on International Marketing in universities in Mexico, Germany, Thailand, China and the USA.

He has run more than a half dozen marathons. One in Texas, one in Paris, France and several in Honolulu.

His travels have taken him to places that are less than popular with tourists - Guantanamo Bay Cuba; Wake Island; and Urumqi (the most inland city in the world), to name a few. He was present at the 1997 Hong Kong turnover; at the 1968 riotous Democratic Convention in Chicago; and participated with sledge hammer in hand at the destruction of the Berlin Wall.

He was also a Principal Actor in the Hollywood film Battleship and has his own Rotten Tomatoes webpage.
