My interests as an author, stem from an extensive and mixed clinical and scientific background in Neurological Rehabilitation and Acute and Emergency Medicine / Nursing. I began my early medical and scientific career in the military training as a Combat Medic (CM) where I was trained along the medical model of healthcare developing broad clinical skills and experiencing diverse clinical settings within emergency medicine. Post military, I continued my educational pursuits and completed a Diploma in Applied Chemistry and Forensics, achieving a triple distinction from Oxford City College. Subsequently, I received an Academic Excellence and Community Scholarship to complete an accelerated BSN Hons at Oxford Brookes University (School of Nursing). During this time I was most fortunate to have the experience of working in many diverse clinical settings with my chosen area of expertise being in that of acute and emergency and trauma within the prestigious Oxford University Hospital. After completing my degree, I worked as a locum (RN) in various hospitals across the UK mainly in the area of acute and emergency medicine and trauma rehabilitation. Post clinical work, I decided to continue my studies and went to Keele University Medical School where I completed a PGC in Applied Clinical / Surgical Anatomy and Physiology. During this time I also completed licensure as a Clinical kinesthesiologist (UK) KCMT eventually setting up my own small company seeing patients with musculoskeletal and post trauma rehabilitation needs. I spent just under two years as an anatomy demonstrator and prosector at the University of Oxfords prestigious medical school and completed a postgraduate module in anatomical teaching of the thoracic region through the anatomical society UK. I have lectured in both emergency and trauma care and in gross and clinical anatomy in the UK and the West Indies where I worked as a visiting professor of gross and clinical anatomy. During this period, I published seven of my research papers as well as a book. Outside of mainstream medicine and science, I found a great interest in functional and oriental medicine completing a Doctorate in medical acupuncture and functional medicine.
