Adam Golub

I am a writer and American Studies professor who teaches courses on literature, popular culture, music, and monsters at California State University, Fullerton. I am co-editor, with Heather Richardson Hayton, of Monsters in the Classroom: Essays on Teaching What Scares Us (McFarland 2017). I have published academic essays on zombies, the blues, cold war youth culture, and other popular culture topics. I also write fiction and my stories have appeared in Linden Avenue Literary Journal, Indicia, Pulp Literature, The Bookends Review, The Sirens Call, and elsewhere. I earned my Ph.D. in American Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, M.A.T in English from Boston College, and B.A. in English from Vassar College. I was born in Philadelphia and grew up in New Jersey, where I spent much of my time writing stories, running cross country, and playing keyboard and composing songs for a rock band whose gigs ranged from middle school dances to CBGB.
