Dr. Grace Allman Burke

Grace Allman Burke was born in New York City in the area known as Harlem--the renowned capital of the Harlem Renaissance. Her parents were immigrants from Panama and Barbados. She earned degrees from Cornell University, Columbia University, and Jacksonville Theological Seminary. Dr. Burke lived in the Caribbean for several years while working as an International Health Consultant.

Returning to the USA, she lived, first, in her native New York, then, Texas--the Lone Star State.

Her love of writing blossomed into a second career-that of writing and publishing- after she retired from her profession as a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse-Midwife.

Dr. Burke is the author of six books, her most recent being DECEMBER'S AS PLEASANT AS MAY.. a Collection of fifty essays, for which she won the Distinguished Authors Guild Award, inspirational category, in 2021. Her other works include COUPLES OF THE BIBLE, a Bible Study; CARIBBEAN ADVENTURE, a Novel; DELIGHTS by DAISY, a Recipe book; BROKEN PIECES...MENDING THE FRAGMENTS THROUGH ADOPTION, a Memoir; and THE STRANGER'S SON in the genre of Biblical Historical Fiction. For the latter, she won the prestigious Joy & company's Christian Literary Award in 2016.

Dr. Burke is an ordained minister and leads a ministry for senior citizens.
