Susan Ekhoff is an author, teacher, artist, and intercessor—and she uses all of these positions of influence to announce that the Jesus is real and knowable. Her gift of hospitality, and willingness to invest in a wide circle of family and friends, keeps her front porch rockers filled and her center island lined with delectable meals. Nurturing relationships is so important to her that the word relationship is spelled across her family room wall.
Susan met her soul mate Richard Ekhoff while attending Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They graduated and married in 1983. Susan and Richard are honored to be the parents of seven adult children they affectionately call “The Sensational Seven.” But best of the bunch is their granddaughter Eleanor.
Susan is a veteran homeschool mom and also teaches elementary and junior high writing. Her writing curriculum Writing for Relationship encourages students to draw close to the Lord as they learn to write.
Susan’s first book was co-authored with her mother Sandra Strange. The Lamp, Be Aglow and Burning with the Spirit, published in 2015, chronicles her mother’s greatest faith lessons over 70 years. The Lamp is rich with insights into marriage, healing from addiction, long-term friendships, overcoming faith, and personal revival.
Her second book shares her own adventures in faith. Prayer That Must, The Power of Conversational Prayer skillfully ushers the reader from the foundations of a relationship with Jesus into intimate channels of prayer. Her transparent, personal stories teach through example.
Susan Ekhoff is called to pray for revival in her generation and mentor others in a lifestyle of prayer. Her writing introduces the reader to a vibrant, relevant relationship with God and inspires them to recognize and respond to His voice for themselves.
