Laura Terry

Laura Terry is the author and illustrator of the graphic novel GRAVEYARD SHAKES, a 2017 Junior Library Guild selection. Publisher’s weekly said of GRAVYEARD SHAKES that “Terry never loses sight of the idea that even misfits can find community by being themselves.” The school Library Journal said the book is “…a fun, original ride.”

As a child, Laura spent her days in rural Texas raising livestock, playing in the woods, and discovering an intense love for books, particularly those of Neil Gaiman, Roald Dahl, and Ursula K. Le Guin. She studied painting at Pratt, then received an MFA from the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont. Now, she works (and plays) as an illustrator and cartoonist in Brooklyn with her tiny poodle Muffin.
