Katie Smith

Katie Smith is an author and an amateur humanist philosopher who, in 2009, took an 18-month sabbatical to travel and work, alone or in artist residencies across 13 countries, to trace down her family’s DNA memory. Zoe Bios originated as a poetic interpretation of epigenetics and a way to explain her theory of DNA memory. This book is the product of a decade’s worth of research and discussion.

She spends her days as a communications strategist who has worked with ACLU National, Advancement Project California, USA for UNHCR, Calvert Foundation, Common Sense Media, and other innovative organizations seeking effective ways to defend our civil rights and assert a progressive agenda.

Ms. Smith was born and raised in Los Angeles.
