Acclaimed, international selling author, J. A. Goodman, has written a mystery series that incorporates locations in and around her hometown of Rochester, New York. Her detectives work for the city’s Homicide Unit. The complexity and rich detail keep these stories moving at an invigorating pace. At age 47, she left her position at Kodak to attend College full time. In 1991 she received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Marketing with Distinction from MCC. At 70 she joined Osher Lifelong Learning at RIT and began to write her first novel. It was published in 2016. Two more Emma Mason Mystery novels followed in 2017 and 2018. Also in 2018 she published a book of short stories: "Storytelling Around the Table", written by herself and members of her class at Osher.

"Writing a novel to entertain was a lifelong ambition. The success of my first novel, TANGLED JUSTICE encouraged me to continue writing. I chose Rochester, New York as my location because of it's diverse people, festivals and points of interest that my characters can discuss and my readers can enjoy.

DOMESTIC JUSTICE, is the second in the Emma Mason Mystery series. This action packed story dives headfirst into the complexities of Domestic Abuse.

LEGAL JUSTICE deals with the elderly and how they fall prey to unscrupulous lawyers and others who fail to protect them. I added an additional mystery regarding the Underground Railroad. I enjoyed researching the prominent role Rochester played in the underground RR for my third novel, published in June, 2018.

I have also been honored to speak to groups interested in reading and/or writing. I am delighted to pursue my new career as author and lecturer."
