Matty B. Duran

My name is Matty B. Duran. I have written on Red Bubble art site since 2009.

I was born in 1965. I began writing at the age of 9, to process the experience of living. It helped me to cope growing up with domestic violence. Writing has been an expression of the humanity God has given me. It has been my only voice when I had none.

I believe I was saved at the age of 20 by the Grace of God. There has been a lot of forgiveness after that time. But God was faithful and is faithful. I can testify to His great compassion and mercy.

My prayer is that the Lord Jesus will use my humanity, imperfections and all. I pray that my writings will reflect God's love for humanity.

"Writing has been God’s gift to me. I have always loved to write, and my prayers are that the Lord Jesus would use me to write the things He wants me to, because I struggle still with my faith. But I know there is no life without Jesus.

God has healed me of a lot. I used to be a cutter. I used to cut my arms and legs until there was only ribbons of flesh hanging, and blood was dripping down my legs and arms.

I never married, and wasted my youth on worthless relationships, some of the men were married. But I want to write to you, women we are not here to be in abusive relationships, whatever the abuse is. We are not women to have our bodies used by men who do not love us and are not married to us. Some of the writings reflect the anguish of these relationships.

I have raised my daughter Emma as a single parent. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 9 years of age. It was only by God’s grace and strength that I am still standing.

I pray, "Lord use my humanity, my flawed screwed up life to touch the flawed screwed up lives of the others. God loves you, and I want God to use me to tell you so."

I live to testify to you in praise of my Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, "I AM THE ONLY WAY, THE ONLY TRUTH, AND THE ONLY LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME."
