My name is Elliot Stanton, and so far, I have written and published nine books -five humorous novels, a book of short thriller stories, and three collections of poetry.

For the bulk of my working life, I have been a pawnbroker, and that has given me the opportunity to meet many unusual and entertaining characters. So much so, that in 2015, I decided to write 'The Not So Secret Diary of a Pawnbroker', which is a fictitious journal of Pete Dawson, who just so happens to have met the very real customers that I have.

Outside of writing, my interests include history, travel. I particularly love Las Vegas and my trips to Sin City have inspired me to write my second book – For A Few Dollars Less. I also like sport (although more as a spectator rather than as a participant), music and quizzing. Quizzing and an appearance on the BBC TV series 'Eggheads' inspired me to write my third novel, 'Questionable Friends'. (They do say, 'write about something you know about!)

IIn 2023, I published my fifth novel, titled, 'Ultravox vs. The Ottoman Empire.'

In addition, I have written over 40 short and feature-length scripts, winning many awards from British and international film festivals and competitions. In addition, I have also written a sitcom series based around my debut book.
