Lavi Picu is a Romanian - Canadian writer and blogger, majored in Linguistics, with a background in translations and writing. She's also a a visual artist with a focus on health and arts. After being diagnosed with Lyme disease, she started an awareness online campaign which reached people from various countries.
Using acrylics and poetry as her mediums, she explores the prejudices against women, the pressure and set expectations of the society on women of all ages. She tries to voice the struggle of living with an invisible illness and to educate people to recognize it.
Her figurative artworks (portraits) illustrate the invisible symptoms of Lyme disease, while her abstract paintings invite the viewer to a journey of pain, throughout the human body., at a macro level. Her unique style and technique enable her to create visually engaging 3D artworks.
