I am a retired former NHS Information Manager, computer programmer, data analyst and Paramedic. I now spend my time writing my Rosa Rubicondior blog (https://rosarubicondior.blogspot.co.uk) on general and biological science, religion from an Atheist viewpoint and sometimes politics. I am a humanist and an Atheist.

Before joining the NHS I was a Senior Research Laboratory Technician and a State Registered Medical Laboratory Technician. I have a degree in Applied Biology and a post-grad Diploma in Management Studies.

I have had an interest in nature since childhood and am a passionate advocate of the scientific method and healthy scepticism. I don't believe man has dominion over the earth. We have the great good fortune to experience life once and once only and share this beautiful little space-ship Earth with all the other creatures which have evolved on it with us and to whom we are related.

We are made of the same stuff the Universe is made of and are part of it. The most remarkable thing about us is that through us, though maybe not just through us and probably not just on this planet, the Universe has gained self-awareness and can stand on the surface of this little jewel in the Cosmos and gaze in wonder at itself.
