Edward Horner

Edward Horner is the founder and publisher of Canadian Outdoor Press, an independent publishing house based on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. A lifelong camper, paddler, cyclist, skier, and photographer, he has spent more than fifty years exploring the lakes, forests, and backroads of Ontario and Alberta.

Ed is the author of Family Camping Guide: Simple Advice for Comfortable, Confident Camping and writes about the outdoors, history, Buddhism, and the human experience. His books reflect a lifelong interest in careful observation, practical wisdom, and the ways nature invites us to slow down and pay attention.

Before founding Canadian Outdoor Press, Ed represented Fitzhenry & Whiteside, Lone Pine Publishing, and Breakwater Books in southwestern Ontario. He has been a practising Buddhist in the Theravada tradition since 2003.

Ed lives on Manitoulin Island with his wife, where he continues to write, publish, and explore new ideas for books.
