Joshua Hirschstein

Joshua Hirschstein and co-author (and spouse) Maren Beck have owned and operated Above the Fray: Traditional Hilltribe Art (www.hilltribeart.com) since 2007 with the goal of helping support, document, and treasure the traditional textiles and textile artists of hill tribe Laos and Vietnam. Over their years of travel, they have developed deep connections with the independent traditional silk weavers of Houaphan Province in NE Laos. Joshua and Maren make their home in Eugene, OR, where Joshua also owns and directs a private tutoring service.
