Chris Horn

Chris has been Wine Director at Purple Café, Seattle since the day we opened the doors in 2006 and has built one of the most interesting and dynamic wine lists in the country. According to Chris, "One of the best aspects of the job is pairing food with over 100 different wines at our disposal."

His primary goal is to find wines of intent rather than wines created through focus groups and marketing strategies. Wines made by people with the objective of expressing their land, their culture, their food and their individual personalities. According to Chris, you can assuredly taste the difference.

In 2015, Chris was named “Sommelier of the Year” by the Washington Wine Commission.
