Sheila M. Sullivan is an author, legal advocate, sometime comedian (depending on the crowd), and lifelong book addict who believes storytelling is both art and rebellion. Her work blends emotional truth with just enough irreverent humor to get her uninvited from boring parties.
She began her legal journey doing pro bono work with the AIDS Legal Clinic in San Diego, offering critical support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS during a time when compassion was often in short supply. That work continued in St. Louis and in other cities she’s called home—at last count, she’s moved more than 16 times in the past 20 years. No matter where she landed, her commitment to justice, dignity, and human connection followed.
Today, she continues her pro bono efforts by supporting teachers of neurodiverse students and families navigating complex care challenges—because love is love, and paperwork shouldn’t be a weapon.
She’s the author of the F.O.K. Series, The Accidental Writing Lab, and the YA novella I Want to Eat You Whole, a satirical stiletto-kick to the norm where queer is default and straight is the scandal.
Sheila is also a consultant and workshop engineer/presenter with JASC Associates, helping teams and leaders strengthen communication, embrace their power, and move forward with purpose.
She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her wife and their Cardigan Welsh Corgis (self-appointed Chief Adventure Officers). When not working, she’s likely golfing—or attempting to—or hunting down the next best coffee house somewhere in the world.
