T.G. Monahan

A lifelong storyteller, T.G. Monahan was inspired early by the imaginative worlds of J.R.R. Tolkien and the enduring power of myth and history. He is the author of The Vexing Heirloom, Dreamin’ in ’89, and Dodecahedron, and writes fiction that explores the liminal territory where life becomes legend.

A graduate of Rutgers University and Albany Law School, he served as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps, deploying to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He practices law, specializing in criminal defense and family law, in Upstate New York, where he resides with his son.

Monahan’s work, private consulting, and teaching is shaped by a passion for bringing epic, sometimes obscure, stories to life for new generations, and by a commitment to portraying the legal system with honesty and nuance. He is devoted to supporting aspiring writers, carrying forward the mentorship that helped launch his own path to publication. He is an MFA candidate at New England College (2027).
