I began writing poetry at an early age, so the next step for me was to major in English at Central Connecticut State University however, the journey began at the city's community college, Capital Community College formerly Greater Hartford Community College. I received my Bachelor's degree in the Arts and a minor in Management Information Systems. Before leaving the university, I began publishing and developed a poetry website.

After adopting a puppy, I began capturing once in a lifetime moments. Having no idea I would go on to display the pictures in the children's book titled, A Dog Named "Rover," and with my love for poetry, I included a sonnet in the introduction of the book.

I was born and grew up in Jamaica (and USA partially) where I had lots of outlets and materials to develop my skills as a poet and writer. Growing up an only girl out of a home with two brothers, I captivated to finding my own space. I clipped my dolls' hair off and picked up my writing pen. On a writing tablet given to me by my dad, courtesy of the paper company he worked at, I began my writing journey.
