Judson I Stone

The biography A Modest But Crucial Hero: The Life and Legacy of Rev George E Stone (1873-1899) is about a pioneer missionary with the Arabian Mission in Bahrain and Oman. George was a great-great uncle. I wrote the biography of my dad, A Last Chapter of the Greatest Generation (2016), to honor his military and medical careers. My next project is to complete a biography of a great uncle, Elmore B. Stone, who served in World War One. It includes the transcription of his war diary. I am a retired corporate chaplain and pastor. I served as a sports chaplain for a high school football team and a men’s college basketball. I served as a pastor for 26 years in Maine. I write poetry and share them with people in happy and sad times. I have lived in 12 states and visited all 50. I have visited at least 21 countries. I find positive things in each state and country. I am married, the father of three sons, and have five grandchildren. In my younger days, I played basketball, football, ran track and cross country. I've coached youth football, baseball, and lacrosse. I hunted rattlesnakes, trapped wild mice, and raced turtles which creates patience. I love raspberries, raked Maine blueberries, and dug clams. Maybe the biggest project I undertook besides marriage, parenting, and writing a book is bicycling from Maine to Washington state to raise funds for missions. My wife and I built a house in 2018 in the Panhandle of Florida. I served as president of the Destin-South Walton Toastmasters club for 2019-2020. I belong to the Destin Word Weavers International chapter. I volunteer at a local state prison. I am available for speaking and preaching.
