Matteo Musso

Matteo ("Teo") Musso is a 16 yr. old author, poet, artist, songwriter and inspirational speaker – with autism. He was silent until age 11.5, until his mom found a letterboard system. In just 3.5 years – Matteo has written 5 books, given over 75 presentations, stars in a youtube vlog called "Mondays with Matteo" – all by pointing to one letter at a time on a letter board as his mom transcribes or speaks his words. Matteo has deemed himself a "voice for the silent ones." He and his mom are on a mission to change societies views on autism and special needs individuals who may not have their voice heard, yet. Annette and Matteo are able to do this through donations to the 501c3 nonprofit, Creative Autism Solutions Team, Annette formed to spread Matteo's message in educating the public about the truth and gifts of autism. Matteo's vocal abilities are ever-increasing, but for now, he continues to communicate primarily through his letter board, expressing himself beautifully, one letter at a time as his mother transcribes. He lives with his parents in northern California.

Matteo enjoys being in the water…any water! He also loves being a Boy Scout, hanging with his

friends, creative writing, science and math. His love of the arts is evident in his artwork and

appreciation of music. Matteo is learning to play the piano and guitar. And last, but certainly not least, Teo loves food! He loves to eat it then write about it in the “Teo’s Tasty Adventures” section of his website.

Annette Musso, Matteo's mom, was at one time a professional in piano performance and pedagogy and then an outside sales representative. She is now mom to Matteo and runs a nonprofit organization for autism called Creative Autism Solutions Team, through which she also consults with parents of newly diagnosed children and encourages parents who have been on their autism journey for years. She homeschool's her son in the best way in which he can learn, and flies around the country with him as he brings surprising and amazing messages to the world through presentations such as this one today. She also conducts sessions with other autists and consults with parents using helpful wisdom and ways she has gained with helping her son Matteo.
