Jamie Blackett

Jamie Blackett fell into writing by accident when, thirty three years after leaving school, he received a surprise commission to write the biography of his old tutor, Michael Kidson. The bestselling book - The Enigma of Kidson, Portrait of a Schoolmaster - became an instant hit and he has followed up with another book: Red Rag to a Bull, Rural Life in an Urban Age, published on 30 Oct 18 by Quiller, a book about the countryside described by one reviewer as James Herriott meets the Irish RM.

He spent 20 years in the Army before returning to his roots in Dumfries and Galloway where he is a farmer by day and a writer by night.
