John Van Horn

Author John Van Horn has spent two decades editing a business to business publication focused on parking. He uses that expertise to craft short mystery stories featuring Los Angeles PI Paul Manning. The stories are spread across Manning’s four decade long career and painted on a background of Van Horn’s home, Los Angeles. Each book in the Death by Parking series contains at least three episodes in Manning’s career and somewhere in the works one finds the parking industry, with all its beauty and warts.

JVH is a graduate of UCLA, a former Captain in the US Army in the Vietnam Era, the ex national sales manager of a company manufacturing parking revenue control systems, and for the past 22 years, the founder, editor and publisher of the largest circulation magazine in the parking industry. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Robyn and his Sheltie Suki. There is a cat, Brackets, who tolerates the family and shows up at feeding time.
