Jeff Whitman

Jeff Whitman is the President and CEO of Air Safety Group, LLC. Since inception in 2009, Air Safety Group has provided exemplar safety and compliance solutions to high-end operators of business jets conducting worldwide operations.

Mr. Whitman specializes in operational integrity, with a focus on protecting owner assets, through comprehensive analysis of individual requirements. Attention to safety and regulatory obligation of ownership, with a balanced approach for efficiency, are his highest priorities.

Mr. Whitman has 30+ years of business aviation experience and is accredited by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) as an auditor for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operators (IS-BAO). Mr. Whitman is among a select group of providers, world-wide, that are specifically recognized by IBAC as meeting the requirements of IBAC’s International Standards Support Services Affiliate (I3SA) program.

Mr. Whitman has authored position papers pertaining to complex industry issues. He is a subject matter expert in FAA and EASA regulatory requirements and the ICAO Annexes. Mr. Whitman has authored and edited complex operating documents, which include General Operating Manuals; Standard Operating Procedures (cockpit, maintenance, and cabin); Aircraft Checklists; Safety Management System Manuals; Safety Inspection of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) Compliance Manuals; and Emergency Response/Crisis Management Manuals.

Mr. Whitman has assisted numerous operators with achieving their safety and compliance goals, which include IS-BAO Certificates of Registration, government contract approvals, contractor bid qualification, and detailed system analysis to uncover latent organizational vulnerabilities.

Prior to founding Air Safety Group, Mr. Whitman served as a Senior Captain for a major corporate flight department operating multiple jet aircraft. Mr. Whitman possesses an FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with over 14,000 hours of accident/incident free flight experience and type ratings in multiple jet aircraft.

Along with his role as a Senior Captain, Mr. Whitman had the additional responsibilities of a Safety Officer and Quality Processes Champion. In this role, Mr. Whitman developed a process driven framework for the investigation and analysis of operational events, developed standard operating procedures for the integration of two major corporate flight operations, co-authored the application for corporate quality certification, and was a major player on the team that obtained IS-BAO Stage 1 and Stage 2 Certificates of Registration.
