Paul Mackie is an Early Childhood Educator, grandfather, author, and storyteller who believes children learn best through curiosity, play, and by following their interests.
With more than three decades of experience supporting children in classrooms, daycares, and community programs, Paul developed The New Approach to Early Childhood Education, a child-led, play-based philosophy that encourages adults to provide learning environments that expand a child's interests, nurture natural curiosity, and make learning enjoyable rather than instructional.
His books include The 3Rs Storybook Library, Story Time Made Simple, and the Grandparent Legacy Stories, all designed to help teachers, parents, grandparents, and caregivers create rich, child-led, play-based learning environments where children follow their interests, explore their ideas, and naturally develop the foundations for reading, writing, arithmetic, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning without formal teaching, worksheets, or a prescribed curriculum.
Paul continues to write books that provide teachers, parents, grandparents, and caregivers with practical ideas for creating child-led, play-based learning environments where children naturally develop the confidence, curiosity, and skills needed for lifelong learning.
