Scott Meze

Since his first acid trip in his teens, Scott Meze has spent his life engaged in two great journeys: into the heart of the psychedelic experience, and into how people have used that experience to create the world's most amazing music.

With "Fantastic Trips" he brings together an extensive overview of both subjects. It is the first book ever to fully document, step by step, both the cause of the creativity and its astounding results.

A companion volume "Trippersonics" suggests 125 essential tracks and albums every experienced tripper must have in their collection, graphically mapping every turn in the music so you know exactly what to expect.

In 2018, Scott published the first trippersonic guide to the music of an individual artist or group of artists. "Naive Art" explores the psychedelic music of Pink Floyd (from 1965 to 1983) in unprecedented detail. It covers every official release, all the studio outtakes, film and TV footage, and every circulating live show from UFO to Knebworth. A volume dedicated to "Ummagumma," "Something Else" followed in 2019.

From 2018 onwards, Scott has published "Progress," overviews of rock's golden age year on year, including detailed reviews of all the essential albums.
