Jane M. H. Bigelow has just published two fantasy novels, "Kossinli's Talisman" and "Viceroy's Knot". In "Kossinli's Talisman", Layla, a gem thief in a Bronze Age world of caravans and dueling deities, attracts the dangerous gratitude of the Goddess of Mirth. "Be careful what you ask for. You might get it."
In "Viceroy's Knot, Layla has turned respectable. She's had her fill of adventure, and wants to live a quiet life. Life, and the Exemplars of Sarinsat, God of Order, have other ideas. To save hr friend and teacher Firousi, Layla must travel to The Ngarra where little children have knives and the roses have poisonous thorns. She must go to the Overworld, which she’d sworn never to visit again, on a mission she did not want: to steal a magical protective charm for her worst enemies.
How can she avoid helping her foes to hurt her friends?
In a completely separate world, Jane has published "A Most Inconvenient Corpse". The Chateau of Avrenante has so much to offfer: elegant music and dance, astronomical research, courtly intrigue--and murder, in a world inspired by 18th century Versailles. Marguerite, Duchesse de Lille never meant to kill the Marechal-Duc de Nolhac. That won't matter if she's caught.
Jane has short stories in Realms of Darkover, Gifts of Darkover, Masques of Darkover, Crossroads of Darkover, and Citadels of Darkover, as well as Sword and Sorceress 34.
Traveling to faraway places and cultures has given Jane more ideas for stories than she will ever be able to use. The different ways that people interact are both fascinating and frustrating, and excellent food for growing stories. Her fondness for dancing and playing music also influence her fiction.
Jane is a retired librarian, a job which encouraged her to go on being curious about everything. She lives in Denver, CO with her husband, Robert, and two spoiled cats, Shiraz and Thunderpurr.
