Linda Langner

Linda Langner and her husband live in Veracruz, Mexico. From her old, traditional Mexican home, right on the ocean’s edge, it’s an easy stroll to the zocalo (the city’s central plaza). Every night the zocalo is alive with music and dance. Linda and her husband often spend their evenings there enjoying the happiness of Mexican culture.

For the thirteen years leading up to her retirement two years ago, Linda owned and directed a Spanish immersion school. Her school brought several thousand people from all around the world to Veracruz. It was during these many wonderful years that Linda added excellence in teaching Spanish to her background of teaching math and English.

Retirement for Linda is every bit as busy as was work life. Her day is filled with music and art. She divides her time among classical piano, painting, classical guitar, Mexican marimba, and Veracruz folk music on the harp or jarana. On top of this there is the pleasure of going to the corner grocery or to lunch in a three-table restaurant, or riding the bus down the waterfront, or going to the beach, or a hundred other things.

Everywhere she goes, the city’s warm and friendly people are always anxious to take a few minutes to visit. As Linda will tell you, living in Veracruz is living in paradise.

Her bilingual reader series fills a gap in study material that was ever present. There are lots of good quality bilingual readers, but they aren’t much fun. Linda’s books are not only excellent learning material, but they bring the reader the fun of Mexico.

Her beginner’s book works with any Spanish speaker as “teacher.”

Her simple stories are designed to help develop conversational Spanish at a very transactional level. The simplicity allows the reader clearly to see the essential basics of the language.

All of her books let you share in her love of Spanish and her success with it.
