Noelle J. Relles

Noelle Relles was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, but developed a love of marine life through visits to Marine Land and Sea World at a young age. She graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Study in 2007. She attended graduate school at the College of William & Mary's Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) where she studied coral reef ecosystems on the island of Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean, and in the Florida Keys. She combined research techniques using SCUBA, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and satellite remote sensing technology to map changes in coral reef cover over time. She received her doctorate from William & Mary and VIMS in 2012 and now works as a subject matter expert for McGraw-Hill Education and as an adjunct biology professor in upstate New York.
