Sandeep Kaur-ghumaan

Dr. Sandeep Kaur-Ghumaan has been working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi since July, 2010. She received her PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2007 under the supervision of Professor G. K. Lahiri. She has postdoctoral research experience from the Department of Chemistry, Stanford University, USA (2007-2008; Prof. James P. Collman) and the Department of Photochemistry and Molecular Science, Uppsala University, Sweden as a Wenner-Gren fellow (2009-2010; Prof. Sacha Ott). Dr. Sandeep Kaur-Ghumaan has also received various awards such as the Max Planck Research Fellow (2012-2016), Indo-US Research Fellow (2011) and Wenner-Gren Fellow (2010). Her independent research has been funded by CSIR, DST, DST-Max Planck and the University of Delhi. She was also a visiting researcher at Stuttgart University, Germany (2005) and a visiting scientist at Uppsala University, Sweden (2011 and 2012). Her current research focuses on bio-inorganic and coordination chemistry, homogeneous catalysis and the development of functional models of the [FeFe] hydrogenase enzyme active site for proton reduction/hydrogen production. She has supervised three PhD students, and has published 29 peer-reviewed articles in national and international journals. She has presented her research work in several national and international conferences.
