Bill Nolan lives in Willcox, Arizona, on 5 acres in the country, along with his wife, Sara, their daughter Brekelle, their dogs Allie and Athena, three cats, 2 horses, 25 chickens, eight turtles, and a few hundred fish. The property is certified as wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Animals which have visited their ponds include mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, kit foxes, gray foxes, coati mundis, skunks, javalinas, cottontails, jack rabbits, lots of lizards of various kinds, box turtles, and half a dozen kinds of snakes, including, of course, rattlesnakes. It is Arizona, after all. They have also identified over 120 species of birds on their property. Bill is a polymath who taught College for 35 years. Among the subjects he taught at the college level are computer science, photography, astronomy, English, and film studies. He is very active in community affairs, and has served as president of the local school board, the Chamber of Commerce, and several other community organizations. He has a doctorate in religion and master’s degrees in four other subjects. Fifty years ago he was a journeyman electrician and held a general contractor’s license.
