When I started writing the first book, it wasn’t intentional. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been wanting to write and been writing since I was 5 when I figured out you could do more with a pen and paper than draw abstract art.
I had a dream. The dream kept haunting me. A dream would meander around in my brain, rattle for a few days then settle back to wait. This dream wouldn’t stop. It would interrupt my driving, take over my meditation, insert itself into my day job. So I sat down with a spiral note book to jot it down. A dream journal I thought would be a nice thing to have.
I put pen to paper and six weeks later my first book was written. Coyote Laughing. I haven’t looked back or stopped writing since.
My second, A Drowning World, third book A Sirens Song, and fourth book Song for the Dead, are a trilogy from another dream. This dream morphed from just the two characters to a world with a war in space. There are shape shifters, mermen and necromancers, what’s not to get excited there? The trilogy is the prequel to my main space opera in the works. I know it’s a bit odd to write the prequel first, but this felt appropriate before I dove into the main multi-book story.
I write for a wide audience. Sci-Fi, Mystery, Fiction, Young Adult, a little bit of everything. Sometimes mixed all together. Read my books to see what happens!
