Dr David Stephens PsyD

Dr. David Stephens was born in Las Cruces, NM and grew up in Phoenix, AZ. He and his wife Amy have three grown children and live in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Dr. Stephens has served in a variety of senior administrative positions, including being the Director of Mental or Behavioral Health for the Wyoming prison system, the Missouri prison system and the Colorado prison system. He has also been the Dean of the School of Professional Psychology at University of the Rockies, which trains master's and doctoral students in clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy and counseling.

He was the psychologist for a unit at the Colorado state mental hospital that treated Colorado residents who had severe mental illness and alcohol and drug addictions. In this role he provided a wide range of neuropsychological assessments, and trained medical residents in the neuropsychological and physical elements of addictions.

Dr. Stephens brings his years of experience in understanding and treating children, couples, and families, and his thorough knowledge of brain functioning, together in his books and training seminars. You will learn from him how children develop, how their brains and emotions function and the best way to raise them to be respectful of themselves, others and society.
